Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. The couple had separated and she moved with her mom to Los Angeles. They were struggling to make ends meet when she got her first part in the acting world in the film Rachel's Room's main character. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 as well as sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. Grace quit the show in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in films, having appeared alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. In addition, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. She reprised the role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon on the finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. After her successful performance as a mother who is not married on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and Hysteria. Her other roles include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal composed and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
